This website is run by Prestwood Car Sales. We are the “controller” of the personal information described here, which means we decide how it is used.

When you send us an enquiry we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), your message and the car you’re asking about. We use this to reply to you and, if you go ahead, to arrange a viewing or sale. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to customers.

When you book a viewing we also collect your preferred date and time, so we can arrange it with you.

When you ask for a part-exchange valuation we collect your car’s registration, make and model, mileage, any condition notes and any photos you choose to upload. We use these only to value your car and discuss a part exchange, and photos are deleted along with your enquiry.

When you browse the site we count how many times each car is viewed, and whether the visitor was on a mobile or desktop device. To stop repeat counting and to protect the enquiry form from spam, we briefly keep a scrambled (keyed-hash) version of your IP address. It can’t be turned back into your IP address without our secret key, and we delete it within 24 hours. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding which cars are popular and keeping the site secure.

We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, we don’t build profiles of visitors, and we never sell your information.

We only share your information with the service providers that run this website for us, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only on our instructions:

• Vercel – website hosting, database and image storage
• Resend – delivering enquiry emails to our inbox

These providers may process data outside the UK, including in the USA. Where they do, the transfer is protected by UK-approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US “data bridge”.

We may also share information if the law requires it.

• Enquiries, viewing requests and part-exchange details (including photos): 24 months, then deleted automatically. If you buy a car from us, we keep sale records for as long as the law requires (usually 6 years for tax and accounting).
• Car view statistics: 12 months.
• Scrambled IP addresses: up to 24 hours.

This website doesn’t set any cookies for visitors. The only cookies we use are strictly necessary ones that keep our staff logged in to the admin area.

YouTube: car videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, which doesn’t set cookies until you play a video. Once you press play, Google’s privacy policy applies.

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

• give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• correct anything that’s wrong or incomplete
• delete your information
• restrict or object to how we use it
• send your information to you or another organisation in a portable format
